INSTRUCTIONS

NECESSARY MATERIALS:

- ICE-WASHER:- Electric washing machine 220V 135W
- Pyramidal bag in 220 micron fabric to contain the raw material to be filtered
- Filter bags
- digital thermometer with probe for temperature control
- Dry and previously frozen raw material (avoid plant material that could damage the pyramidal bag)
- Cube +/- 30cm diameter.
- blotting paper
- Enough ice to lower the water temperature to 4°C (about 2 kg)
- Strainer

WORK PROCESS:

1) Place the "Ice Washer" on a raised surface and the bucket on the ground. Insert the filter bags into the bucket, respecting the order. The finest filter bag should be placed in the bucket first and then the others.
2) Insert the digital thermometer probe inside the "Ice-Washer"
3) Fill the "Ice-Washer" halfway with cold water. Add ice. Turn on the Ice-Washer to facilitate melting of the ice until the desired temperature is reached (recommended around 4°).
4) Fill the pyramidal bag (maximum 500g) with the previously frozen raw material. Place the bag in the “Ice-Washer”, close the lid and set the time (from 3min. to 8min.).
5) Once the programmed time has elapsed, remove the pyramidal bag. Let the water drain into the ICE WASHER by gently squeezing the bag.
6) Lower the water outlet tube so that it flows into the bucket, and then replace the tube.
7) Remove the first filter bag and squeeze it gently to release excess water. In this first bag there will be no pollen or resin crystals, but only residue.
8) Remove the second bag, with a slow movement up and down, in and out of the water, try to gather the crystals in the center of the bag. This phase is very important to prevent the crystals from dispersing.
9) Gently squeeze the filter bag. Wrap the part where the crystals have been concentrated with absorbent paper on the outside to facilitate the absorption of excess moisture. If you have multiple filter bags, repeat steps 8 and 9.

The extracted crystals must be placed inside a strainer, with a spoon the material obtained is pressed against the mesh to filter the crystals onto a sheet of absorbent paper.
This process serves to extract excess moisture and ensure drying.
effective.
Let dry for 48 hours in the shade, at room temperature. This phase is very important for the quality of the final product which, once dry, can be pressed.
Through the first wash it is possible to remove most of the crystals.
It is recommended to repeat steps 4 to 9, with the same raw material, in order to extract the maximum amount of crystals.
It is also possible to filter the same water several times.
Wash the filter bags with ice water as soon as you are done using them.
prevents glass from sticking to the walls, and you can also wash the bags
with alcohol (96%).
